Made in Cameroon Magazine- The first edition of the World Diaspora Business Summit, to be held in Paris on November 14 and 15, 2024, promises to be a major event for Cameroon. Organized by Ccediam in partnership with Ccima, the summit aims to strengthen economic ties between the country and its diaspora.
As Christophe Eken, President of Ccima, points out, the forum will be “an opportunity to initiate business contacts and forge partnerships”. The stakes are many: fostering trade, promoting entrepreneurship and developing mutually beneficial partnerships.
The Cameroonian diaspora, particularly dynamic and structured, represents a considerable asset for the country’s development. According to Louis Henri Ngantcha, President of the Réseau des parlementaires diaspora, “Our diaspora is not homogeneous. We have all the skills and expertise needed for Cameroon’s development”. Remittances from the diaspora, though smaller than those from other African countries, represent a significant and stable financial resource for Cameroon.
The “Cameroon-Europe World Diasporas Business Summit” is an ambitious initiative aimed at mobilizing the African diaspora, economic players in Africa and European companies. As the organizers state, “The World Diaspora Business Summit 2024 will be an opportunity for participants to discover business opportunities in different countries, share expertise and establish strategic contacts”.
This summit is a unique opportunity to promote Cameroon’s economic potential and strengthen relations between the country and its diaspora. It is fully in line with Cameroon’s development strategy, which recognizes the key role of the diaspora in achieving its objectives.
